LeadSquared is an AI-powered CRM for sales, marketing and service teams across many verticals, with no solar-specific domain modelling. Solar Spine is built for Indian rooftop and C&I solar EPCs, with solar stages, payment workflows, and DISCOM net-metering built in.
In short
LeadSquared is a horizontal multi-product revenue platform out of Bengaluru, serving 1,600–2,000 organisations worldwide. It bundles Sales CRM, Service CRM, Marketing Automation, Field Operations/Mobile CRM, Call Center CRM, an AI voice-calling product called Invorto, and FloStack digital sales rooms. No solar or renewable-energy vertical exists anywhere on the site; its nine named industries are Financial Services, Manufacturing, Automotive, Healthcare, Education, Digital Native Businesses, Real Estate, Travel and Hospitality, and Agriculture.
LeadSquared's pricing is split across two products: Sales CRM at $60–$100 per user per month (all billed annually, USD only, no self-serve checkout); Marketing Automation at $2,000–$3,500 per account per month flat (also annual, USD). No INR list price is published, and every customer-facing CTA on the current site is 'Book a Demo' or 'Let's Talk' — though live self-serve trial-signup pages do exist, they are not linked from the main marketing funnel. The company publishes ISO 27001:2022 certification, DPDP-readiness, and CERT-In empanelled audits as part of India-focused compliance signalling.
For a rooftop or C&I EPC, LeadSquared hits a hard ceiling after a lead qualifies: it has no kW field, no DISCOM/net-metering tracking, no PM Surya Ghar subsidy workflow, no stage-gated install checklists, and crucially, no money workflow at all — no instalment schedules, no payment-gated dispatch, no cheque-bounce handling, no GST-compliant invoicing. SolarSquare's own case study, LeadSquared's one named rooftop-solar customer, covers lead capture and lead scoring only; it says nothing about payments, because LeadSquared has no payment feature to describe.
Where LeadSquared wins
- Invorto Voice AI is a real, in-house AI voice-calling product (also sold standalone at invorto.ai) that qualifies leads, extracts intent and budget, and books follow-ups 24/7 without a human — a genuinely differentiated feature that Solar Spine does not yet have a marketing-page equivalent for.
- India-compliance signals are front-and-centre on the homepage, not buried on a legal page: ISO 27001:2022, DPDP-readiness, and CERT-In empanelled audits get a dedicated section explicitly framed for regulated industries.
- A top-of-funnel SEO and content operation (750+ pages across a learn/glossary library, 'X alternatives' pages, and direct vs-Salesforce and vs-HubSpot comparisons) captures long-tail buyer-intent search traffic that Solar Spine does not currently compete for.
- Native WhatsApp Business integration with templates, automation, delivery tracking, and a choice of BSPs; Solar Spine offers click-to-chat and logged interactions only.
- Real-time revenue and pipeline dashboards with a report builder for hand-crafted views; a generic owner-level view does not exist but the tools to build one do.
Where Solar Spine wins
- Solar Spine's seven sales stages and seventeen project stages are pre-built and solar-specific on day one; LeadSquared requires a customer to re-map generic opportunities into their own solar terminology and build nothing around installation.
- Fifty-seven checklist items branch automatically on loan type, subsidy scheme (PM Surya Ghar), and DISCOM operator; LeadSquared has a generic, configurable Process Designer but no solar-domain knowledge baked in.
- Payment instalments are a first-class concept (10/70/20 or custom schedules) with due dates and outstanding balance visible to all; LeadSquared stops at closed-won and has no finance workflow at all.
- A cheque bounce reopens the instalment; LeadSquared has no payment or collections module of any kind.
- DISCOM net-metering paperwork is tracked with branches for BRPL, BYPL, TPDDL, PVVNL, NPCL, DHBVN and UHBVN.
- PM Surya Ghar submission, GBI redemption, and central subsidy claims are dated tasks in the checklist; LeadSquared has zero solar-subsidy knowledge.
- Pricing is flat ₹10,000/month or ₹99,999/year plus 18% GST with unlimited users; no sales call, no USD currency risk, 30-day free trial linked from the pricing page, no setup fee.
Best for
High-velocity, high-lead-volume sales and service teams across multiple verticals with existing finance/operations systems; the SolarSquare case study suggests a solar company using LeadSquared for lead capture alone, not project delivery.
Not for
Solar EPCs needing post-sale workflows (instalments, payment gates, DISCOM tracking, cheque bounces, GST invoicing); or any company wanting a flat, published, INR-denominated price without a sales call. Neither tool does roof design.
Pricing
LeadSquared
LeadSquared prices two products separately: Sales CRM at $60–$100 per user per month, Marketing Automation at $2,000–$3,500 per account per month (flat, not per user), both billed annually with no self-serve pricing revealed. No INR list price is published on leadsquared.com. Every site CTA is 'Book a Demo'; live self-serve trial-signup pages exist but are not linked from the main funnel.

Feature by feature

| Stage checklists that change with loan, subsidy and DISCOM | No. No per-stage or conditional (loan, subsidy, DISCOM-aware) checklist feature. | Yes. 57 checklist items; loan, subsidy and DISCOM-specific tasks appear only where they apply. |
| DISCOM net-metering steps tracked | No. Zero mentions of DISCOM or net metering across ~3,000 crawled URLs. | Yes. Net-meter paperwork branches for BRPL, BYPL, TPDDL, PVVNL, NPCL, DHBVN and UHBVN. |
| PM Surya Ghar and subsidy tracking | No. Zero mentions of PM Surya Ghar or any Indian solar subsidy scheme. | Yes. PMSG submission, DCR certificate, GBI and central subsidy redemption as dated tasks. |
| kW as a native field with kW reporting | No. No kW field; the SolarSquare case study describes leads scored by electricity consumption or region, not system size. | Yes. Every deal and project carries capacity; dashboards and targets report in kW. |
| Roof design, shading and proposal generation | No. No roof-design or shading-analysis tool; only generic sales quote creation exists. | No. Solar Spine does not do roof design. Use a design tool and track the job here. |
| Execution | ||
| Tasks written automatically with due dates when a stage opens | Partly. A Process Designer and Workflow Automation feature could be configured to auto-create tasks, but this is build-it-yourself, not out-of-the-box. | Yes. Nobody types the checklist; each task carries the date it was given when the stage opened. |
| Overdue work escalates up the org chart on its own | Partly. LeadSquared's Service CRM product (not Sales CRM) does have documented escalation up the org chart by SLA breach, but this is ticket-focused, not sales-pipeline escalation. | Yes. Every night a late task climbs one rung and keeps climbing until someone acts. |
| A stage cannot be advanced with open checklist items | No. No evidence of blocking opportunity-stage advancement on open checklist items. | Yes. The advance button is unavailable until the stage's items are closed. |
| Documents verified by ops before work proceeds | Partly. Mobile app supports document and photo upload in the field, but no evidence that an ops-verification step gates stage progress. | Yes. A document is done when ops marks it correct; a rejection goes back to the person who photographed it. |
| A different first screen per role | Yes. Smart Views show each rep only their own prioritised tasks; role-based reports exist for reps, managers, and marketing separately. | Yes. Nine roles, nine first screens, from telecaller to director. |
| Field use on a phone: photos, tasks, call outcomes | Yes. Native iOS and Android apps (500,000+ users) with GPS tracking, geo-fenced check-in, document and photo upload, meeting notes, offline sync, and click-to-call. | Yes. Every screen works on a phone; documents are photographed at the customer's house. |
| Money | ||
| Instalment schedule per project | No. No instalment or payment-schedule feature; this is a lead-to-sale CRM, not a project-finance tool. | Yes. 10/70/20 or whatever you agreed, with due dates and outstanding balance visible to all. |
| Material cannot dispatch until payment is collected | No. No dispatch or fulfilment gating on payment; no dispatch feature exists in the product. | Yes. Thresholds per stage, set by the workspace; the default is the one the first customer ran. |
| Daily overdue payment alerts to owner and manager | No. Nudges and Notifications are generic task reminders, not payment-specific overdue alerts. | Yes. 7 am every day, to the person who owns the collection and their manager. |
| A bounced cheque reopens the instalment | No. No cheque or payment-reversal handling; collections workflows are outside the product's scope. | Yes. Yes |
| GST invoices and quotes from the same record | No. No GST-compliant invoicing or quote-to-invoice feature; only generic sales quotes exist. | Yes. Invoice creation is a stage in the pipeline; the subscription itself is GST-invoiced too. |
| Leads and calling | ||
| Meta lead ads land in the system within minutes | Yes. Dedicated, native Facebook/Meta Lead Ads integration page confirms direct ingestion of leads from Meta lead-ad forms. | Yes. Ad leads arrive marked hot at the top of the calling queue inside five minutes. |
| PIN-code check on incoming leads | Partly. PIN codes are used to auto-route leads to the covering field rep, but there is no evidence of a serviceability check that rejects out-of-area leads. | Yes. Leads outside the PIN codes you serve are kept out of the AI caller's queue. |
| AI caller that qualifies leads and books visits | Yes. Invorto Voice AI (LeadSquared's own product) calls, qualifies leads, extracts intent, budget and timeline, and books follow-ups 24/7 without a human. | Yes. Optional. Calls 9 am to 9 pm IST, books the visit on a named salesperson's day, hands off with notes. |
| Built-in telecalling queue with daily batches and outcomes | Yes. A dedicated Call Center CRM product line exists with click-to-call, mobile cloud calling, and call reports (volume, connect rate). | Yes. Queues built and ordered before the caller sits down; one outcome vocabulary for humans and the AI. |
| Lead outcomes written back to Meta | Yes. Facebook Conversions integration sends CRM lead-outcome events back to Meta's Conversions API so ad campaigns optimise on real conversions. | Yes. Qualified, converted and disqualified statuses flow back through the lead sheet into Meta's Conversions API, so the account optimises for buyers, not form-fillers. |
| WhatsApp messaging and automation | Yes. Native WhatsApp Business integration: templates, trigger-based automation, delivery tracking, and choice of BSPs (Gupshup, Exotel, Infobip and others). | Partly. Click-to-chat and logged WhatsApp interactions. No automated messaging. |
| Reporting | ||
| Owner dashboard: kW against target, cash due, stuck projects | Partly. Real-time revenue and pipeline dashboards exist, but no purpose-built owner view combining kW-vs-target, cash due, and stuck projects. | Yes. Yes |
| Per-person monthly targets and attainment | Yes. Performance Management is a standalone product; the mobile CRM page explicitly describes tracking target vs. achievement per team member. | Yes. Yes |
| Ask the business a question in plain English | No. The homepage lists four AI features (Invorto, Call Sentiment, Conversational AI, Service Excellence) but none is a natural-language query interface. | Yes. Director and GM only. Finding, evidence, table, caveat, next step, from live data. |
| One-click export of everything | Partly. Report Export and Report Scheduler are per-report plan features; no evidence of a single one-click full-account data export. | Yes. Excel export any time. No lock-in. |
| Data | ||
| Data hosted in India | Partly. Data centres are in India, US, and Singapore on AWS across multiple regions; not exclusively India-hosted. | Yes. Postgres in Mumbai (ap-south-1); documents in a private store. |
| Tenant isolation at the database level | Yes. Security page states a database-per-tenant model: each customer has a separate database with no cross-customer data access. | Yes. Row-level security fences every workspace; identity documents are visible only to the project chain. |
| Pricing and support | ||
| Pricing model | No. Sales CRM is strictly per-user pricing; the separate Marketing Automation product is flat per-account — a hybrid, seat-driven model, not flat per company. | Yes. Flat per company: ₹10,000 a month or ₹99,999 a year plus GST. Unlimited users. |
| Prices published in INR | No. Both current pricing pages show USD only; no INR list price is published on leadsquared.com. | Yes. Yes |
| Free trial without a card | Partly. Live, working self-serve trial-signup pages exist with 'No credit card required' and mobile verification, but they are not linked from the main marketing funnel; every primary CTA is 'Book a Demo'. | Yes. 30 days, no card, no call. |
| India-based support in IST | Yes. Help centre publishes IST-denominated SLA: Mon–Fri 8 a.m.–11 p.m. IST, Sat–Sun 9 a.m.–9 p.m. IST, with first-response targets by severity (Urgent 30 min, High 2 hrs). | Yes. Email, replies within one business day, from Mumbai. |
Switching from LeadSquared
- Export your leads and contacts from LeadSquared via CSV report export (LeadSquared lists Report Export as a per-plan feature, though exact formats should be confirmed with their API docs; bulk export via their REST API at apidocs.leadsquared.com is the more reliable path).
- Import the CSV into Solar Spine's calling queue (leads become opportunities in the solar pipeline) and customer import (contacts become projects).
- Manually re-map LeadSquared's generic Opportunity pipeline stages onto Solar Spine's pre-built solar sales and install stage set, since LeadSquared carries no like-for-like stage or checklist data. This is a one-time mapping exercise, not a data carry-over.
- Re-constitute any instalment or payment tracking that you were keeping outside LeadSquared (commonly Excel or Tally) directly inside Solar Spine, since LeadSquared has no payment module and nothing to migrate on that front.
- Re-point your Meta Lead Ads form and Conversions API integration at Solar Spine, and set up WhatsApp Business templates (Solar Spine's integration is click-to-chat and logged interactions; LeadSquared's automation does not carry over).
Questions people ask
Can I use both LeadSquared and Solar Spine at the same time?
Yes. LeadSquared is a lead-capture tool; Solar Spine is the project and install workflow. Some teams keep a lead-generation tool separate from the project CRM. However, if you are already paying per-seat for LeadSquared, Solar Spine's flat company-wide price gives you the same lead intake plus the entire finance and install workflow at no per-seat cost.
Does Solar Spine replace LeadSquared's design features?
Neither tool does roof design. Use a design tool (Aurora Solar, SketchUp, Helioscope or your own CAD) to produce the design, then track the job in Solar Spine. LeadSquared also does not do design, so this is a no-change. Solar Spine's stages pick up once a design is approved, from site survey through installation, net metering and handover.
Is there an integration between LeadSquared and Solar Spine?
Not today. The switching path is CSV export and import. LeadSquared exposes REST APIs, so a scripted bulk export is possible if you are not comfortable with report-based CSV. There is no live sync, and LeadSquared carries no stage or checklist data to re-map, since neither exists there in a solar-specific form.
Which is cheaper for a twelve-person team?
Solar Spine costs ₹10,000/month flat (₹11,800 incl. GST) for all twelve users, or ₹99,999/year (₹1,17,999 incl. GST). LeadSquared publishes Sales Pro at $60/user/month, billed annually, USD only — $8,640/year for a twelve-person team. LeadSquared quotes no INR price; converted at an assumed ₹84/$, that is roughly ₹60,480/month, about five times Solar Spine's flat rate, though the conversion is an estimate, not a quoted figure. LeadSquared's cost also scales with headcount; Solar Spine's does not.
Where is my data hosted?
LeadSquared's data centres are in India, US, and Singapore on AWS; not exclusively India. Solar Spine's data is in Mumbai (ap-south-1) only, with a private document store. For DPDP and RBI data-residency purposes, every record stays inside India, with no cross-border transfer to account for.
Can LeadSquared track payment instalments and dispatch gates?
No. LeadSquared is a lead-and-sales CRM; it has no instalment, payment-gate, or dispatch module. Its own SolarSquare case study covers lead capture and scoring only and says nothing about payments. Solar Spine's payment gate defaults block material dispatch until 65% (loan) or 95% (non-loan) is paid, and completion until 100%.
