SolarMatrix brings lead capture, design, quotation, and project tracking into one platform; Solar Spine automates the operational discipline that matters most to a growing EPC.
In short
SolarMatrix is a CRM and operations platform built specifically for Indian solar EPC companies, bringing together lead management through service delivery, 2D/3D solar design with shading analysis, India-specific lead sources (JustDial, IndiaMART, Facebook), WhatsApp Business API with automation, and two native mobile apps (SolarConnect+ for field teams, MySolar+ as a customer portal). The platform is sold as three flat monthly tiers, not per-seat; the Standard plan (₹3,500/mo, up to 5 users) lacks design and WhatsApp; Advanced (₹6,800/mo, up to 15 users) adds WhatsApp reports and Facebook lead fetch; Premium (₹10,900/mo, unlimited users) includes the full feature set: design, WhatsApp Business API, and digital signatures.
An Indian rooftop or C&I EPC will find SolarMatrix strong in lead automation and solar-specific domain modelling — the DISCOM document generator and PM Surya Ghar subsidy tracking are first-class features, not add-ons. The design studio (Premium only) does genuine time-of-day shading analysis rather than just estimating generation. However, SolarMatrix's product is built on tracking and dashboards; it does not describe automatic enforcement of any of the operational disciplines that separate EPCs that scale smoothly from those that hit a ceiling. There is no stage-gate blocking progress on incomplete checklists, no payment-gated material dispatch, no escalation of overdue tasks up an org chart, and no handling of cheque bounces that reopens an instalment. These are the mechanisms Solar Spine uses to keep execution discipline automatic as the company grows.
For an EPC that is already on SolarMatrix and scaling, the tier structure creates a problem: the features most valuable to a growing team (WhatsApp automation, the design studio, the customer portal) are locked to the Premium tier, and every tier caps the maximum user count, so software cost jumps in steps. Solar Spine's single flat unlimited-user price, with all features included, reverses that trade-off. An EPC smaller than 5 seats can stay on Solar Spine and add users and features without a tier jump. EPCs currently on SolarMatrix's Standard or Advanced tier would be gaining WhatsApp automation and design capabilities for the first time if they switched.
Where SolarMatrix wins
- SolarMatrix integrates India-specific lead sources as core features, not add-ons: JustDial, IndiaMART, and Facebook lead auto-fetch are built into the platform on every tier, alongside a wide WhatsApp toolset — Business API, chatbot, auto follow-ups, quotation follow-up, welcome messages, and daily WhatsApp reports to admins.
- The platform includes a genuine 2D/3D design studio (Premium tier) that performs real time-of-day shading analysis with a visual heatmap rather than estimating generation. The design output feeds directly into quotations, shortening the path from design to customer quote.
- SolarMatrix's DISCOM and PM Surya Ghar subsidy handling is first-class, not grafted on: Predefined DISCOM Document Generator, net-metering application status monitoring, and subsidy application and approval tracking are named features on every tier.
- Two purpose-built native mobile apps ship with the platform: SolarConnect+ for field and sales teams (with live location tracking), and MySolar+ as a customer-facing self-service portal for project tracking and document access.
- Transparent INR pricing with no surprises: published in rupees on every plan, no setup fee, free onboarding and free data migration explicitly promised in the FAQ, and annual pricing 10% cheaper than paying monthly.
Where Solar Spine wins
- Solar Spine includes a free 30-day trial with no card required; SolarMatrix offers only a demo booking path. An EPC can explore Solar Spine's actual interface and workflows before deciding to subscribe.
- One flat price for unlimited users across all features, with no tier jumps as the company grows. SolarMatrix couples user-count ceilings to pricing tiers, so an EPC that hits 6 users must jump to Advanced (₹6,800), and features like WhatsApp automation and the design studio are only available on Premium (₹10,900). Solar Spine's model avoids this tier-shopping problem entirely.
- Stage gates, payment gates, and escalation enforce operational discipline automatically rather than merely tracking it. When a stage is locked until its checklist is complete, when material cannot dispatch until payment is collected, and when overdue work climbs the org chart every night, execution stops drifting. SolarMatrix's feature set is built on dashboards and reporting; it does not describe any automatic enforcement mechanism.
- Cheque bounces reopen the instalment automatically, and daily overdue-payment alerts at 7 am reach the person responsible for collection and their manager. SolarMatrix has no named cheque-bounce handling and no overdue-payment alerts.
- Every number in Solar Spine's marketing is read from the code or the live billing system: 7 sales stages, 17 project stages, 57 checklist items, 9 role dashboards, dates are calendar anniversaries that never drift. SolarMatrix's site shows illustrative mock-up dashboard numbers (247 Active Leads, ₹45L Monthly Revenue) in its product demo, not verified company metrics.
Best for
SolarMatrix suits solar EPCs that prioritise lead automation and design-studio capability and are comfortable buying the Premium tier (₹10,900/mo) to access those features.
Not for
Neither tool is for EPCs that do their own roof design — you need a specialist CAD tool for that. SolarMatrix is not right for EPCs that want a free trial or to avoid tier jumps as headcount grows; Solar Spine is not right for EPCs that need an integrated 2D/3D design studio or prefer a feature-gated tier structure.

| Documents verified by ops before work proceeds | Partly. Strong document handling exists (Document Management, Serial Number Management, AI-based Serial Number Extraction, Barcode Scanner) but nothing describes ops-verification gating of overall project progress. | Yes. Switching from SolarMatrix
- Export leads and inquiries from SolarMatrix as CSV, re-map them into Solar Spine's lead and deal model, and upload them into the calling queue and customer base.
- Export quotations as PDF from SolarMatrix. Because SolarMatrix uses component-wise pricing and Solar Spine's quotation engine works differently, quotations cannot be field-mapped directly — they will need to be re-keyed into Solar Spine's quotation template.
- Export project and order records as JSON (subsidy status, DISCOM document status, payment history, service records) from SolarMatrix. Since SolarMatrix has no native stage-checklist concept to map from, manual re-attachment to Solar Spine's stage and checklist model is required. This is a reconstruction, not a field-mapping exercise.
- Photographs and documents attached to projects will need to be re-uploaded to Solar Spine. SolarMatrix's privacy policy promises CSV, JSON, and PDF export, but no bulk document-export mechanism is advertised. Verify directly against a live SolarMatrix account before committing to a cutover date.
- Re-register the WhatsApp Business API number and BSP (Business Service Provider) connection on Solar Spine. SolarMatrix's WhatsApp credentials and API integrations will not transfer; the BSP relationship must be re-established.
Questions people ask
Can I run both SolarMatrix and Solar Spine at the same time?
Yes, you can pilot Solar Spine while keeping SolarMatrix running. SolarMatrix's privacy policy commits to data export at any time in standard formats, so you can trial Solar Spine on a subset of leads, measure execution discipline, and then decide whether to migrate fully.
Does Solar Spine replace the design tool?
Solar Spine does not include a 2D or 3D solar design studio. If you need roof design, you will keep using a specialist design tool (SolarMatrix's, Aurora Solar, Arka360, or another) and track the job and its output in Solar Spine. If you are currently on SolarMatrix Standard or Advanced (which lack the design studio), switching to Solar Spine would not eliminate the need for a design tool.
Is there an integration between Solar Spine and SolarMatrix?
Not today. You can export from SolarMatrix and import into Solar Spine, but the two systems do not speak to each other live. If you need automated data sync between platforms, you would need to build or contract a custom integration.
Which is cheaper for a 12-person team?
For a team of 12, SolarMatrix requires at least the Advanced tier (₹6,800/month, up to 15 users) to accommodate headcount. If you need WhatsApp automation or the design studio, you must jump to Premium (₹10,900/month, unlimited users). Solar Spine is ₹10,000/month for unlimited users across all features — cheaper than SolarMatrix Premium, and without tier jumps if you hire more staff.
Where is the data hosted?
SolarMatrix hosts data in Indian data centres on AWS or Google Cloud infrastructure, according to its security page. Solar Spine uses Postgres in Mumbai (ap-south-1), with row-level security fencing each workspace's records from every other workspace on the same database, and documents held in a separate private store, also in India.
How long does a migration from SolarMatrix to Solar Spine take?
There is no published timeline for either side, so treat it as work to scope rather than a fixed date. The bulk of the time goes into re-mapping exported leads, deals, and projects; re-keying quotations, because the two quotation engines price components differently; re-uploading documents, since SolarMatrix advertises CSV, JSON, and PDF export but no bulk document export; and re-registering the WhatsApp Business API number. Pilot Solar Spine's execution discipline on a subset of projects first, to check the staged-checklist and payment-gate workflows fit your process before committing to a full cutover.
